Selling Source, a technology and marketing solutions provider to the specialty finance sector, today promoted Executive Vice President Curtis Pope to chief business development officer for Selling Source and related companies, according to reports.

Pope, who has been responsible for Las Vegas-based Selling Source’s development efforts, has been said to have significantly contributed towards company’s most-significant strategic partnerships.

The new chief business development officer plays a pivotal role in establishing new and current strategic marketing alliances, insiders say, managing relationships with banks and other financial institutions and develops new specialty finance business lines.

In addition to performing these duties, Pope will now also identify, qualify and accelerate new business opportunities with existing and new clients, according to Selling Source officials. Moreover, he will work across all Selling Source companies to identify, cross-sell and up-sell other opportunities, according to the company. According to Selling Source, he will also continue to oversee company’s call center operations to support clients’ direct mail and direct response television, or DRTV, programs.

Derek LaFavor, Selling Source’s chief executive officer, said that Curtis has demonstrated great success in developing some of their biggest new-business relationships with customers, partners, banks and other financial institutions.

Saying Pope has played a pivotal role in the company’s tremendous success during the past several years, LaFavor said that Curtis continues to set the bar higher and higher for himself and the company because he recognizes the vast opportunities the specialty finance industry offers and the best ways to help their customers maximize their returns in this favorable environment.

Pope has earned two promotions at Selling Source in the past year. In his role as executive vice president and vice president of business development at Selling Source, Pope leveraged his wide-ranging industry experience and relationship-building skills to deploy several specialty finance programs, according to LaFavor.

Boasting more than 20 years’ experience in marketing specialty finance products, Pope served 11 years as the general manager of First American Management, a marketing company with a 600-seat call center operation responsible for securing more than 7 million credit card accounts.
