Eishtec Expands Its Operations Creating 250 New Call Center Jobs

After signing a huge contract with mobile operator Everything Everywhere, Eishtec, which currently employs 400 people in Waterford, will expand and open a new call center in a custom-built facility in Drinagh. The customer contact solutions company will create 250 new call-center jobs in Co Wexford. EE is also the company behind British telecommunication giants Orange (News - Alert) and T-Mobile.

“We are particularly encouraged by this growth because in January 2012 we announced 250 jobs for Waterford and, based on delivering strong performance to date, we have been able to grow beyond that figure to 400,” quoted Brian Barry, one of Eishtec’s co-founder.

While Barry stated that its encouragement to step forward was due to the company’s growth, Heather Reynolds, co-founder, on the other hand, credited the growth to the skills and attitude of its current employees at the Cleaboy Business Park in Waterford.

Reynolds testified that the expansion, approved by The Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, is due to the skills and positive attitude of the people it has recruited. Furthermore, it is delighted to expand its business to 650 employees.

Calling the company a role model for what it is trying to achieve in Ireland and the economy, Minister Richard Bruton welcomed the development, stating it will be a huge boost for an area that suffered from a major job loss.

Bruton added that the company, founded by three former employees of a multinational, winning business in a highly competitive market, is an Irish company that plans on growing employment in a part of the country which has suffered from high levels of unemployment. Reynolds and Barry along with Colm Tracey founded the company after the closure of Talk Talk in Waterford.
