Committed to Canada’s agricultural growth, Farm Credit Canada (FCC (News - Alert)) serves the industry through all cycles, providing financing, insurance, software, learning programs and other business services to producers, agribusinesses and agri-food operations. In its commitment to help agricultural producers take advantage of latest technology to enhance their production, FCC has unveiled new field management software called Field Manager PRO 360 (FM PRO 360).
FM PRO 360’s Geographic Information System (GIS) technology allows producers to enjoy a closer, more comprehensive look at their operations by relying on satellite imaging.
Developed in partnership with Logiag, an agri-environmental specialist company, FM PRO 360 provides aerial images of fields, a new capability that can help producers to map and compare their yields. Adding GIS capability helps the farmers to get high resolution satellite images of their operation and geo-referenced data, that can be used to map yields, apply variable rates for fertilizer, and display soil test results. Based on these data, the farmers will find it easier to pan for the next year.
FM PRO 360 can also help import GIS, variable rate and other data directly from various equipment manufacturers. These features will allow all information to be readily available in a single system.
“Our new Field Manager PRO 360 software is another example of FCC's commitment to helping producers succeed through innovative technology,” Director of FCC Management Software Glen Kroeker said. “The GIS feature will help producers see their operation in a new light, and save them time and effort while assessing their fields.”
Earlier this month, FCC released its fifth national Vision panel survey, which revealed that optimism among Canadian agriculture producers and agribusiness owners is at an all-time high.
