Northwire has unveiled the company’s next generation of Marine Shipboard RIG wire and cable. NWI Lab360 makes use of professional certifications in Six Sigma, Lean, Project Management and the American Society for Quality to enhance design, manufacturing and quality to achieve the shortest lead times for any volume.
Northwire’s Extreme Frigid Flex Marine Shipboard RIG cable provides improved bend flexibility across temperature ranges of -60°C to 105°C. There are various options available for shield, over-braid, foil, composite and custom designs for 300 volt signal, 600 and 1,000 volt control and low power distribution. Customers can coil these cables for retractile marine wire and cable applications as its gauge ranges 22 – 2 AWG, over-mold and assembly compatible, the company stated in a press release.
“Customers’ challenged Northwire to develop a custom cable solution suited for arctic conditions that has superior flexibility and longer life expectancy,” explains Kevin DePratter, director of research and development. “Our customers’ remote applications require reliability and extreme performance in sub-zero temperatures. Northwire is pleased to offer another premier custom cable solution to our valued customers that meet four top tier approvals and 1,000 hour weatherometer compliance to ensure the longest product life,” says DePratter.
Recently, the company announced “Lab 360” contract manufacturing platform. The customer-centric engineering model consists of six collaborative phases. Northwire engineers are in contact with customers with the help of every process phase to make sure their exact needs are met from concept to completion. Northwire-NWI Lab 360 is a partner for design, original equipment, and contract manufacturing of custom technical products for diverse markets. The company’s quality certifications consist of ISO 13485:2003, ISO 9001:2008, and ISO 17025 qualified.
