Romantis Partners with C-COM Satellite Systems for Joint Commercial Solution

By Jayashree Adkoli, TMCnet Contributor

In an effort to deliver joint customer-driven products to the market and to further boost the partnership between both the companies, C-COM Satellite Systems and Romantis Group together signed another agreement of partnership wherein the C-COM's (News - Alert) iNetVu mobile satellite antenna systems will be deployed by Romantis - to deliver complex commercial emergency communications networks.

The multimillion dollar partnership will boost the development of self-pointing mobile solutions based on the C-COM manufactured iNetVu antenna products and Romantis UHP VSAT technology.

In other words, C-COM will be supplying its iNetVu Flyaway antennas for the ongoing Romantis turnkey VSAT projects.

According to a press release, the iNetVu products have been completely integrated with the Romantis satellite router to develop a combined C-COM and Romantis solution, which is coupled with the GPS Glonass capability – all together making it a proven, cost effective and reliable product.

As a provider of commercial grade mobile satellite-based technology for the delivery of two-way high-speed Internet, VoIP and Video services into vehicles, C-COM has developed a mobile auto-deploying antenna system called as iNetVu, which facilitates the delivery of high-speed satellite based Internet services into vehicles while stationary virtually anywhere where one can drive.

Romantis, which granted the multimillion dollar order to C-Com, is a value-added reseller of satellite capacity as well as a manufacturer of satellite networking products. It is the provider of first fully software-defined satellite router – UHP - that can be used within networks of any size either as a hub or a remote and supports any topologies and modes of operation.

In addition, Romantis also operates its own VSAT and HD/SD DVB platforms that can be used as VNO infrastructure by broadcasters, telecom providers and enterprises.

According to the release, Romantis' UHP-1000 satellite router is compliant with C-COM's iNetVu 7024C VSAT controller, which is ideal for applications that require a simple setup and reliable connection. The 7024C controllers also support the GPS and GLONASS global navigation satellite systems.

Addressing both governmental and commercial customer's requirements for quick-deploy communications, the joint solution of C-COM and Romantis will be able to support various applications including videoconferencing, video surveillance, voice and broadband Internet.

"We are proud to further boost our partnership with innovative and fast-growing C-COM Satellite Systems and to deliver joint customer-driven products to the market," said Harald W. Stange, MD and CEO, Romantis GmbH, in a statement. "Both products work seamlessly together and are ideal for mobile VSAT communication helping customers to utilize satellite communications easily and cost-effectively.”

Stange added, “Our joint product has been already proven in a number of projects including disaster-recovery, telemedicine and military applications. Now this solution is available to provide the same benefits to our commercial customers, too."
