Hughes (News - Alert) Network Systems, LLC recently announced that it has successfully installed four broadband gateways and one network control center for Al Yah Satellite Communications Company PrJSC, a satellite operator based in Abu Dhabi, UAE. All the broadband gateways have been delivered, set up and customized by Hughes, thereby allowing Yahsat to extend its service in Middle East and Africa.

The Gateway (News - Alert) and Service Delivery System deployment project has been successfully accomplished by Hughes, thereby allowing Yahsat to introduce commercial services. Yahsat's YahClick satellite service primarily comprises of the Gateways, Network Control Center, and Service Delivery System.

YahClick service associates have also been provided more than 10,000 VSAT terminals, which will assist in the rollout of YahClick service in 28 markets. After accomplishing these deliveries, Hughes will now focus on operations and maintenance of the services. The network operations for the ground segment powering the YahClick service will be managed by Hughes.

In a release, Tareq Abdul Raheem Al Hosani, CEO, Yahsat said, "Hughes has been a significant asset to us throughout the process of implementing YahClick. We look forward to bringing satellite broadband Internet to consumers and businesses across the Middle East, South West Asia and Africa, who have previously had limited or no access to the Internet, providing them with reliable, wide reaching and high-speed Internet connectivity."

YahClick, which will be introduced by Yahsat across the Middle East, South West Asia and Africa region, will offer high-performance broadband Internet to its subscribers. Yahsat Y1B satellite and the Hughes HN System offering provides extremely high throughput, which can be advantageously utilized by YahClick for offering broadband Internet access and other applications to large and small organizations, government agencies, and customers.
