Hughes (News - Alert) Network Systems, the global player in broadband satellite networks and services, recently revealed it will demonstrate its highly innovative range of satellite-based airborne communications solutions at the 14th annual Global MilSatCom Conference and Exhibition.

The conference will be held at the Millennium Gloucester Hotel and Conference Centre, London, from November 27-29, 2012.

Daniel Losada, Hughes senior director of its Defense and Intelligence Systems Division, will speak at the conference on the importance of innovation in the growing military airborne market.

"Airborne ISR capabilities are critical to protect national security, keep warfighters safe and assist in emergency response activities," said Losada in a statement. "Hughes continues to develop advanced capabilities, many of which provide efficient and cost-effective solutions for our military customers. Our global networks allow us to work at home and in theater, providing continuous coverage for our customers."

In his keynote speech, Losada will also focus at the latest developments from Hughes in high-throughput beyond-line-of-site solutions that have applications for fixed and rotary wing aircraft, as defense organizations look to improve their intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance capability.

He will also discuss MicroSat technologies suitable for C2 communications-on-the-move and patrol manpack applications, as well as data extraction terminals for unmanned aerial vehicle missions.

Officials said the firm will also showcase its diverse range of tactical COTM high-bandwidth solutions for worldwide deployment.

Hughes’ solutions support all the critical mission requirements of land-mobile, maritime and airborne network-centric communications. They reduce operational costs through initiatives such as bandwidth optimization.
