Ingenicomm Acquires CVG-Avtec's Programmable Telemetry Processor Product Line

By Mini Swamy, TMCnet Contributor

Ingenicomm, a service and product provider specializing in satellite ground system/network architecture, has strengthened its arsenal by acquiring the programmable telemetry processor (PTP) product line from CVG-Avtec Systems, a subsidiary of Kratos (News - Alert) Defense & Security Solutions.

The PTP is a highly versatile, modular telemetry and command front-end processor for use in remote tracking stations and satellite operations centers and is perfectly suitable for spacecraft integration and testing at the factory and on the launch pad, noted company officials.

Ingenicomm officials noted that with its unique understanding of the intricacies of the PTP, the company was well positioned to provide superior support to new and existing programs, provide operations and maintenance services to PTP customers and provide customized solutions to meet the requirements of individual missions.

"Ingenicomm's engineers have decades of experience developing and supporting this product line," said Amit Puri, president and CEO at Ingenicomm.

PTP has a presence on every continent and also with every major space agency around the world and also acts as a gateway between spacecraft uplink/downlink and a distributed satellite control system.

By providing integrated multistage and multimission support, PTP eliminates the need to use mission specific processors and also allows satellite manufacturers to use the same equipment as operational satellite ground stations do.

“There are huge synergies between the PTP and our next-generation Configurable Ground Systems (CGS) product line that enable us to provide best-of-breed I&T and ground station processors, although both products will be sustained independently in the future," added Puri.

Ingenicomm announced that it had opened a new location at 14120 Parke Long Court in Chantilly, VA. The centerpiece of the new facility is a state-of-technology ESD-certified development laboratory that will provide Ingenicomm's engineers with the tools needed to design and deploy the next generation of satellite ground processing and communications products.
