SES (News - Alert) Americom-New Skies, the newly merged entity of SES from the SES Americom division and the SES New Skies divisions, recently announced its decision to enter into a multi year contract with IoGlobal to evolve a new DVB IP platform on the NSS-11 satellite, especially for NATO troops in Afghanistan sp they can be better in touch with friends and family back home.

IoGlobal has had a long term strategic relationship with SES Americom-New Skies. Its recent deployment, the Asia 9, which is transmitted across the China frequency of the NSS-11 satellite, delivers more than 70 Mbps of voice, video and data transmissions to soldiers who are posted in and around Kabul in Afghanistan.

The partnership builds on the pre-existing relationship, forged over associations in three satellites, and provides a wide spectrum of crucial satellite-based solutions like broadband and video streaming for the South Asian region.

SES Americom-New Skies believes that this agreement with IoGlobal is a positive affirmation of their strategic plans to grow their service solutions for the Middle East and regions across the world. Both companies provide various SCPC, VSAT and DVB service platforms for their NSS-703, NSS-6 and NSS-11 satellites.

Deepak Mathur, Vice President of South Asia and the Middle East for SES Americom-New Skies, further stated, “ IoGlobal and its team of dedicated professionals operate in extremely challenging environments and SES AMERICOM (News - Alert)-NEW SKIES is proud to play an integral role in enabling IoGlobal to meet the vital communications needs of troops serving in Afghanistan.”
