Hughes Communications India Ltd., a provider of broadband satellite networks and services in India, has been recognized as the Best Very Small Aperture Terminal or VSAT Operator in India, selected from 10 Indian VSAT Service Providers.
The award was announced at the Telecom Operator Awards ceremony held in April 2010 in New Delhi and was eventually presented to Partho Banerjee, president and managing director of HCIL, by Nripendra Misra and Pradip Baijal, both ex-chairmen, Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI).
As stated, the award recognizes companies that demonstrate outstanding performance in delivering world-class results in service and support in the telecom sector.
"We endeavor to provide the most reliable and beneficial satellite service offerings to our customers and are dedicated to continually improving the customer's experience. Receiving this award is a testament to our commitment and efforts. We thank the organizers and our customers for recognizing us as the best VSAT operator in India," Banerjee said.
Hosted by Tele.net magazine, a monthly magazine targeted especially at telecom service providers and large enterprise customers, the award selection was said to have been done on the basis of an extensive survey conducted among a carefully selected group of professionals and sector experts between January and March of 2010.
Also, Hughes (News - Alert) Communications India is said to have emerged as the winner by a wide margin, winning twice as many votes as its peers.
Hughes Communications India Limited is a majority owned subsidiary of Hughes Network Systems (News - Alert), LLC. HCIL started providing VSAT satellite communications services called HughesNet, a shared Network Services through its Earth Station at Gurgaon in February 1995.
