Social Media Venture, Inc. or SMVI announced the launch of a national satellite service offering. This Internet satellite service is expected to be provided through an agreement with the Internet provider aggregator, YourNetPlus.com.

The high-speed satellite service will be made available to rural residential communities and home-office users via SMVI’s Internet Service Providers and also through their social networking portals.

Company sources explained that the high-speed satellite service will leverage high-speed satellite connection besides also providing a v.92 modem uplink configuration. The v.92 modem connection provides the Internet connectivity for the satellite when e-mails are being sent. The modem eliminates the need for installing a second phone line.

The high speed capabilities are much in demand and the satellite has to be installed on the roof top or the side of a building to provide the connectivity. Small businesses can network many PCs via an Ethernet router for receiving or downloading large files. Even in the event of adverse weather conditions when satellite connectivity is affected the v.92 modem provides necessary support.

In a release Social Media Venture CEO Robert W. Thayer said, “This is a fantastic service for those rural areas in the U.S. interested in a high-speed Internet offering. It’s also another way for us to advertise our social networking portal, PetsPlaces.com, as we will be able to place advertising banners on the portal page for all Satellite subscribers.”

“YourNetPlus, as per our agreement, will provide most of the operational services for the satellite so SMVI does not have to build an expensive operating platform or hire programmers,” Thayer added.

The new one-way Internet service will be launched in the next 10 days, said company sources. YourNetPlus.Com is an Internet Service Provider besides being a large Internet Service Aggregator. The company provides services to clients desirous of implementing Private Label ISP or PLISP connectivity for end-users.
