Digitcom Deploys Net-Net Session Director

Acme Packet (News - Alert), a provider of session delivery network solutions, has announced that Digitcom, a Canadian provider of business phone solutions, has deployed Acme’s Net-Net Session Director in its SureConnect by HostedPBX.ca SIP trunking and hosted PBX (News - Alert) solution.

“We selected the Acme Packet Net-Net Session Director for our SureConnect by HostedPBX.ca after an extensive evaluation process," Digitcom president, Jeff Wiener said. "Acme Packet's market leadership position, superior technology, and vast experience with complex multi-vendor networks were critical decision factors."

The Net-Net Session Director allowed Digitcom to deploy its new SIP trunking solution faster by mediating between its Class 5 softswitch and VoIP systems on customer premises. It allows Digitcom to offer features such as the ability to switch between hosted and on-premises extensions.

The software keeps call quality and reliability high by routing around equipment and network failures, as well as preventing denial-of-service attacks and enforcing quality of service policies.

Acme’s package is extensible, allowing for multiple services, including a PBX and SIP trunking, to coexist in the same infrastructure.

Acme has certified Digitcom as an authorized reseller of both its Net-Net Enterprise Session Director Server Edition (SE) and Virtual Machine Edition (VME) enterprise session border controllers for SIP trunking and unified communications functions.

These functions serve Digitcom’s customer base, which mostly includes small and medium-sized business, allowing for a number of options, including unified communications solutions and IP-PBXs.

Digitcom has also been recognized for its excellence in serving small business with the Gold Award for Best Small Business Solution Provider at the Canadian Channel Elite Awards.
