On the heels of providing its EXPERiUS-powered NUViA cloud service toelevate iFlexCloud up to where it belongs, GENBAND (News - Alert) has selected Radisys’ Software Media Resource Function to continue to provide the IP media processing for GENBAND’s EXPERiUS application server and CONTiNUUM call session controllers.
Radisys’ collaboration with GENBAND helps the company expand its role in markets such as SIP trunking, unified communications, HD voice and voice and video overLTE.
Radisys and GENBAND collaborated to enable virtualized media processing to meet the growing demand for cloud-based deployments, allowing GENBAND to provide its customers with a flexible service that they can quickly take to market, according to BG Kumar, president of GENBAND’s Multimedia Business Unit.
“The full integration of the Radisys Software MRF with our EXPERiUS application server and CONTiNUUM call session controllers allows GENBAND to continually enhance and focus resources on our market-leading application and session control solutions programs, resulting in accelerated time to market,” Kumar said in a statement. “Our EXPERiUS and CONTiNUUM solutions, integrated with Radisys’ MRF, are shipping to our service provider and enterprise customers today.”
Radisys’ Software MRF is a foundational element in an IP communications network, processing real-time audio and video media streams under the control of application servers in an IP multimedia subsystem (IMS) environment. Software MRF provides high-capacity IP audio and media processing capabilities, including simple conference mixing, messaging and IVR feature control for the unified communications needs of GENBAND’s EXPERiUS application server, while also supporting multimedia network announcements, digit collection and lawful intercept for the CONTiNUUM call session controllers, according to Denis Bouffard, director product management, Radisys.
“Our cloud-ready Software MRF has made major strides in functionality and virtualization to meet GENBAND’s exacting requirements,” Bouffard said. “Our advances in virtualization support are enabling cloud deployments with impeccable audio and video quality and outstanding capacity – an important and significant achievement for real-time-sensitive IP media processing.”
This week, Radisys will showcase its MRF, video transcoding and conferencing capabilities at GENBAND’s Perspectives13 User Conference in Orlando.
