Lingotek, announced they have created an Inside solution for the Microsoft (News - Alert) SharePoint application using Lingotek’s a Collaborative Translation Platform. Through this integration, all Lingotek platform features can be embedded directly in SharePoint through a robust set of APIs, enabling SharePoint users to translate huge amounts of content in order to better connect with their staffs, partners and communities across the globe.
“The mission of SharePoint is to facilitate collaboration and communication for enterprises,” said Owen Allen, former Microsoft SharePoint ISV partner marketing manager, in a press release. “Implementing Lingotek’s Inside solution strengthens that mission. Users are able to access secure, accurate and up-to-date translated content, allowing them to collaborate and communicate without barriers to colleagues, customers, partners and prospects around the world.”
In a statement, Lingotek CEO, Robert Vandenberg, said, “SharePoint is known worldwide by the enterprise community as a collaboration powerhouse. We are excited to bring the Lingotek Inside solution to SharePoint users who can directly translate content within SharePoint and, consequently, connect with an increased number of global communities critical to the growth of their businesses.”
SharePoint lets people work together in ways that are most effective for them by providing great collaboration tools that anyone can use to share ideas. However, prior to the Lingotek Inside solution, language translation was hard with SharePoint, making it difficult for users to collaborate and share translated content. Lingotek - Inside SharePoint rounds out SharePoint’s offerings by allowing users to efficiently translate content while helping them to expand globally and reach new markets cost-effectively.
With Lingotek’s platform, content managers can upload and edit documents easily as well as invite and connect with community members who can not only view and contribute translations but also rate the precision and reliability of the translation. By combining best-in-class machine translation solutions and real-time community translations, SharePoint users will be able to produce “real time” volunteer translations in a third amount of the time while reducing large costs organizations typical handled by translation services.
