BRIEF: Police seek Montco home invasion suspect

Feb 05, 2013 (The Philadelphia Inquirer - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- Police are asking for help finding a suspect in an armed home invasion in Huntington Valley.

Authorities say two men invaded a house on the 1400 block of Heaton Hill Lane on May 19, 2012, and held the home's residents -- including women and children -- at gunpoint.

The Montgomery County District Attorney's Office said today that 23-year-old Michael Bivans has been identified as one of the suspects through video surveillance and forensic evidence. A $2,500 reward is being offered for tips that leads to his arrest or informaiton about any accomplices.

Two men knocked on the front door of the home and posed as delivery men, according to Lower Moreland Township police. One of the men was carrying a handgun and asked about a safe in the house.

The men fled on Heaton Hill Road toward Heaton Road after they discovered there was no safe.

Anyone with information can call police at 215-947-3132 or 610-278-3368, or the department's anonymous tip line at 215-546-8477 (TIPS).
