ArcSoft (News - Alert), a software provider of multimedia technologies and cross-platform applications, announced that Panasonic's (News - Alert) smartphones are embedded with ArcSoft's camera technologies to help users capture superior images.
Panasonic's new smartphones that run on the Android (News - Alert) 2.3 operating system include the DoCoMo Panasonic P-07C and SoftBank Panasonic Sweety 003P.
Leveraging ArcSoft's camera applications, Panasonic will benefit from a suite of software to offer quality enhancement to photos when capturing them on-device.
ArcSoft camera technologies are designed to allow users to get creative when taking photos, such as Panorama PanCapture, which takes panorama images by panning across the scene.
“ArcSoft's expertise in multimedia software technologies helps our partners differentiate their products from devices with standard Android offerings,” said Sean Bi, VP of Sales, ArcSoft APAC, in a statement. “The robust camera solutions shipped with the two Panasonic phones will surely wow the users after they see the captured results.”
ArcSoft's offerings include Panorama PanCapture that allows users to take panorama image by simply panning the device across the scene; Lomo Effect that tunes a photo to look like it was captured by a Lomo camera device; and Dynamic Lighting that brightens underexposed areas, balances unfavorable lighting conditions, and enhances the dynamic range.
Other important features include Object Tracking to automatically track objects while taking photos and Portrait Refocusing for automatically reducing imperfections on the face, while maintaining the original facial traits.
Recently, ArcSoft demonstrated its latest smartphone offerings at the 2011 GSMA Mobile World Congress (News - Alert) in Barcelona. The company displayed the Stereoscopic capture, 3D panorama solution, S3D photos and stereoscopic videos with single or dual-lens mobile phones.
