The small business community relies heavily on various telecommunications solutions to carry out and expand business activities and streamline their overall operations at lower costs.

Panasonic System Communications Company of North America, a provider of integrated business technology solutions, has announced that it has achieved the top position in market share within the small business telephone market across the continent for 2011 in the 2-40 extensions category.

The company offers a range of unified business communications, mobile computing, security and surveillance systems, retail information systems, office productivity solutions, high definition visual conferencing, projectors and professional displays to its customers in government, healthcare, production, education and various commercial enterprises.

T3i Group, a well-known technology market research firm, has released the information regarding Panasonic (News - Alert) in a new report, defining the small business telephone market as the aggregate sum of key/hybrid, PBX and IP-PBX business phone systems with 2-40 extensions.

Titled ‘InfoTrack for Enterprise Communications (News - Alert), North America,’ the new study conducted by T3i Group, states that Panasonic is the market share leader among manufacturers in the 2-40 extension market segment on the basis of line shipments and share. During 2011, the company grabbed 26.7 percent market share for the North American market, scoring a 15.5-point lead over its closest competitor who captured 11.2 percent market share.

It also emphasizes that Panasonic led the market segment in all the four quarters of the year 2011. While in the first quarter the company held 29.6 percent market share with a 19 point lead over the next competitor, in the second quarter it grabbed 25.5 percent market share for a 13.3-point lead. Similarly during 3Q 2011, Panasonic managed to hold a 25 percent market share with a 12.2-percent lead, and in the last quarter it grabbed 26.6 percent of the market share with a lead of 13.5 points over its next closest competitor.

“Panasonic is once again pleased to be recognized for leading the North American market in the business telephony industry,” commented Bill Savino, Marketing Manager for Business Communication Solutions at Panasonic. “Going forward in 2012 Panasonic will continue to deliver on its promise to bring cost-effective, reliable solutions to market to solve the challenges of the small business owner.”

Previously this month, Panasonic announced its online voting to choose the top prize winners of its “Shoot It. Share It” video contest, open to the public at www.ShootItShareIt.com. All contest submissions were shot with a Panasonic AG-AF100 Large Imager HD Cinema Camcorder.
