Zoiper is a company specializing in internet telephony applications. The company’s Zoiper software phone supports millions of desktop users globally, on Windows, Mac OS X, Linux and Solaris. Now, it is advancing further with the launch of a new version of Zoiper Mobile, which is noted to stand out with a creative new feature.
Available for iPhone and Android (News - Alert), the new version of Zoiper Mobile allows VoIP users to self-provision their account settings by scanning a specially generated QR code to retrieve account data for their VoIP service. This ultimately allows end users to self-provision their VoIP service accounts as easy as taking a picture with the device camera to scan a QR code.
The company believes that with this revolutionary feature, customers can get the best out of the latest technology and gain great relief in terms of ultimate user experience. Customers can also access self-provisioning with just a single tap, where the screen then switches to QR scan mode and captures the image generated by the VoIP provider. This image then contains the encoded account information. Once captured, Zoiper retrieves all account data and provisions itself.
“Apart from a simplified user experience, this functionality enables implementing automated control over customer management of VoIP accounts,” said the company in a statement.
Now with Zoiper Mobile, providers of Internet telephony can simply and easily put a QR image in their customer section. After the user scans the QR image with the handset camera, the information encoded in it is retrieved by Zoiper, and thus the account is provisioned and registered. This will save customers an unbelievable amount of time.
Self-provisioning for mobile using QR-codes is a unique way to reduce customer support costs by using the latest technology. While the user interaction for account registration is limited to a couple of taps on the device screen, this feature ensures high customer retention and avoids frustrating and time-consuming processes of account management and support.
The new functionality is available free of charge to end users, as well as service providers, system integrators and anyone managing a hosted PBX (News - Alert).
Zoiper products include Zoiper Classic meant for softphones, Zoiper communicator – an Internet communication tool with quality voice, video, fax and instant messaging features, Zoiper Web phone and Zoiper Mobile. Just a few days back, Zoiper also stated the fresh, new addition of wideband codecs to its entire product line.
