Hybrid unified communications-as-a-service (UCaaS) solutions are slowly but surely emerging in today’s phone market, and as they do, continue to evolve session initiation protocol (SIP)-based forms of communication. The hybrid UCaaS model notably achieves three different things:

• Helps channel partners easily transition from an on-premise PBX (News - Alert) reseller to reselling UCaaS with a recurring revenue model: “Typically, a channel partner would earn an activation fee and a recurring monthly revenue stream through the life of the contract,” Reibold says. “This new model gives channel partners the stability of an ongoing predictable revenue stream as well as the opportunity to bundle network services for a complete turnkey solution.”
• Increased Reliability: Hybrid UCaaS solutions eliminate those in-and-out call quality issues as well as avoids the need for IT to diagnose the problem, thus significantly increasing call quality of service (QoS).
• Increase Profitability: “Business communications are the life blood of any SMB,” Reibold says. By implementing a hybrid UCaaS solution, you can save as much as $20,000 a day that you could statistically lose when your system goes down using more unreliable methods.
