Mitel Lands Nemertes Research PilotHouse Unified Communications Vendor Award

Mitel Networks, a global provider of business communications solutions and services, won the Nemertes Research PilotHouse Unified Communications (News - Alert) Vendor award in the Market Challenger category.


The goal of the Nemertes Research PilotHouse Unified Communications Vendor award is to measure how companies perform for business end users. Rankings are based on input from these businesses.

In the Market Challengers category, Mitel (News - Alert) was ranked highest of the unified communications vendors. The Market Challengers category identifies growing companies considering market share and customer traction. Customers rated vendors on a range of criteria. The criteria included customer services, technology and value. Mitel was particularly acknowledged for its growing lineup of unified communications and collaboration products.

Irwin Lazar, the VP for Communications and Collaboration at Nemertes Research, said that what makes the PilotHouse award unique is that results are solely derived from the ratings of technology buyers. Lazar added that Mitel’s scores put it ahead of other market challengers in all rated areas.

The most recent award received by Mitel further strengthens its position as a unified communications software and services provider for businesses of all sizes.

Mitel landed second in the Top 25 Canadian Software Companies category of the Branham300 rankings early this year. The Virtual Mitel Communications Director also got the Distinguished Honoree medal in the Best New Product or Service of the Year - Telecommunications category by The 2010 International Business Awards. It also got the Silver in the Tech Awards Circle SMB and Enterprise Software Product category.

Kevin Johnson, the director of consultant, analyst and public relations for Mitel, said that Mitel continues to receive tremendous customer feedback on the flexibility of its unified communications portfolio in meeting their business communications needs. Johnson added that this award is recognition that based on the strength of its portfolio; companies around the globe are adopting Mitel's advanced solutions for presence awareness, conferencing, messaging, and integration with email applications.
