Catalyst Telecom to Bring New Avaya Video Collaboration Solutions to the Market

By Madhubanti Rudra, TMCnet Contributor

Catalyst Telecom is a sales unit of ScanSource (News - Alert), Inc., and value-added distributor of voice, video and data convergence solutions. With its latest collaboration with Avaya (News - Alert), Catalyst is going to expand its offerings. In a live event in New York City, Catalyst announced that it will be carrying the new Avaya video collaboration solutions, which was launched at the same event. In addition,Catalyst will also be offering Avaya Flare Experience with the Avaya Desktop Video Device, which is scheduled for release later in the year.

With the launch of Avaya's video collaboration products, Catalyst reseller partners can begin growing their business and enhancing their solution offering with minimal investment in time and training, as all Avaya Unified Communications (News - Alert) authorized partners will be able to sell Avaya video collaboration solutions immediately.

Avaya's video solutions are based on Avaya Aura, the company's IP communications platform. The technology simplifies complex communications networks and make high-definition, low-bandwidth video collaboration more accessible due to enhanced performance and cost savings achieved through Avaya Aura platform.

Under the partnership agreement, Catalyst will be offering its entire product line, including all related accessories, such as displays and brackets. In addition to that, Catalyst will also provide professional services in support of the solution, the company spokespersons informed. These services include video assessments, integration and installation, which allow Catalyst reseller partners to deliver an enhanced level of service to their end-user customers.

“Today's launch represents one of the most significant developments that we've seen from Avaya to date. Their new video products will help customers realize one of the most tangible benefits of unified communications: true collaboration. This offering enables resellers to provide a complete UC solution to their end-user customers, while also opening the door to new business discussions. We're excited about this new product offering and are ready to offer the service and support our reseller partners need to be successful in selling Avaya video,” John Black, president of Catalyst Telecom (News - Alert), said in connection with the Avaya partnership.

Avaya sees video as an integral component of a complete, unified communications solution. Along with our distributors and value-added resellers, we are bringing to market an end-to-end video solution. These solutions leverage SIP and Avaya Aura(TM), enabling video to be installed, administered and managed through the same network as other communication services -- reducing administrative overhead while improving quality of service through aggregated bandwidth management tools. This is great news for our channel partners as they work with the growing number of customers interested in adding video to Unified Communications to enhance collaboration and customer service,” Jeremy Butt, vice president of Worldwide Channels at Avaya, said.

Catalyst also announced the availability of its Get SIP Smart Solutions Guide from www.catalysttelecom.com/sipsmart, to be served as a reference tool for getting an overview of the technology, user benefits, tips for the selling of and migrating to SIP, an in-depth overview of Avaya Aura and documented case studies.
