CallTower and Sprint Collaborate to Offer Businesses-Hosted UC Solution

By Anil Sharma, TMCnet Contributor

CallTower, a provider of Unified Communications (News - Alert) as a Service (UCaaS), is working with Sprint to offer a new solution that incorporates CallTower's (News - Alert) UCaaS service with Sprint's integrated wireline and wireless networks enabling true mobile Unified Communications.

Officials with CallTower said that businesses will benefit by experiencing the gained productivity, cost savings and enterprise-class reliability in a Unified Communications solution without expensive hardware and infrastructure investments, long and complex deployments, or ongoing support and upgrade concerns.

"Mobile workers now have the freedom to access powerful communications tools with one device and one number regardless if they are on the road or in the office, boosting productivity while reducing companies' overall communications costs," said Bob Barnes, executive vice president of sales, marketing and business development of CallTower, in a statement.

Barnes said that by integrating Sprint's (News - Alert) reliable, secure fixed and mobile networks with CallTower's UCaaS services, businesses have access to best-of-breed unified communications solutions without the capex and management resources required from an in-house solution.

"Businesses of all sizes are very interested in Unified Communications from a productivity and cost-savings standpoint," said Kevin Kunkel, vice president of business markets group, Sprint.

Kunkel said that Sprint and CallTower's offer provides a consistent, seamless workplace for businesses, and is a perfect fit for companies that need to avoid hardware expenses, while managing complex implementations and day-to-day requirements.

Company officials said that with Sprint Mobile Integration, users can dial an extension number from a Sprint mobile phone and reach a corporate user, benefiting from a single number, one central voicemail, and enhanced call management features.

The solution is completely integrated with Sprint's 4G and 3G networks and related wireless applications, providing cost savings from the elimination of local trunks, reduction in desk phones needed for mobile employees, and lower calling rates.

According to company officials, the CallTower service will be delivered to locations leveraging Sprint's Global MPLS network, which will deliver toll-quality voice as well as the other CallTower Unified Communications services.
