Kynetx, a provider of the first development platform for creating cross-platform, event-driven applications, signed an agreement with Twilio Cloud Communications, a provider of Web-service API for businesses to build scalable, reliable communication applications, to integrate its platform into the Twilio (News - Alert) API.
The cloud-based Kynetx Rules Engine allows applications to span multiple websites and platforms and to integrate with web hooks and APIs, making it possible for developers to literally program the internet, regardless of the OS or browser they use.
The Twilio integration is one of multiple new uses now available for the Kynetx platform.
“With Twilio we’ve created the foundation for a modern and flexible telephony and SMS service entirely based in the cloud,” said Jeff Lawson, CEO at Twilio, in a press release. “The integration of Twilio with the Kynetx Rules Language gives our developers a scripting layer for Twilio telephony and SMS that expands application possibilities to new levels,” Lawson continued.
The new integration makes it easy to bring these technologies together in event-driven, context-aware applications that have never existed before. These new applications are able to mold relevant data together from multiple sources, creating meaningful context-based outcomes, with interaction points on the phone, SMS or any URL.
“Using the Kynetx Rules Engine with robust APIs such as Twilio’s allows programmers to create event-driven, connected applications that stretch from the web to the phone and back,” said Phil Windley, co-founder and chief technology officer at Kynetx. “Kynetx applications that leverage APIs can achieve user purpose across devices and platforms in ways that have never been accomplished before,” Windley continued.
