Dilithium, a company that provides converged video solutions for mobile, broadband and Internet markets, today announced that its DTG multimedia gateway has been chosen by Indosat (News - Alert), Indonesia’s second largest telecom operator, to expand its network.
This marks the 100th successful deployment of Dilithium DTG multimedia gateway, according to the company.
Indosat is the second-largest provider of wireless communications in Indonesia. It claims to be the primary provider of International telecommunications services in the country. Indosat also provides international long-distance, multimedia, data communications and Internet access service, company officials say, and operates through three brands: Matrix, Mentari, and IM-3.
“DTG multimedia gateway family is a multimedia platform which enables a range of converged video value-added services such as live TV, video portals, video surveillance, video blogging, video push and video ring back tones,” said officials at Dilithium. Indosat will use DTG products for deploying advanced mobile video services over their network, they say.
DTG multimedia gateway includes two types of products, company officials say – DTG 3000 and DTG 2000.
DTG 3000 provides multimedia solution for cellular, IP
, and public switched telephone network convergence as networks evolve towards IP Multimedia Subsystems, according to the company. The DTG supports a variety of voice and video coding standards and connects end-terminals on circuit switched networks, packet switched networks, wireless networks and the PSTN
, according to Dilithium.
“Indosat has launched innovative services including video mail, video portal, live TV, video dating and citizen reporting, based on our multimedia gateway, and we are pleased to support its rollout across the subscriber base,” said Mitch Lewis, a Dilithium senior vice president. “Our multimedia gateways enable service providers to strategically expand their network and roll out new video services for years to come.”
