Digital Info Security Company (DISC) said that it is now offering an SAS (News - Alert) 70 certified email compliance solution. The company is providing this option alongside PolicyBridge II.

 

SAS 70 has been developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), an auditing standard. A SAS 70 audit provides third party verification of data and operation controls.

 

This option comes with its latest product upgrade to PolicyBridge II, which is an email compliance, email encryption, email archiving, and email monitoring and surveillance suite. PolicyBridge II offers different editions depending on the size and existing infrastructure of an organization.

 

The new functionalities of this comprehensive suite are pre-review capabilities, active policy management, policy-based encryption, digital rights management and pre-defined security controls.

 

In addition to managing email compliance, PolicyBridge II also archives and monitors instant messages, Bloomberg (News - Alert) messages, and text messages. An additional functionality of SecurWrap/Magic KeyRing Security System is digital rights management. The solution provides an audit trail for sensitive data and allows administrators to control user access and permissions.

 

Company officials said the solution meets the requirements of organizations across all industries, from financial and accounting firms to schools, hospitals and governmental entities.

 

For financial customers, the pre-review function automatically scans all message and attachment content before it is sent. Officials said that this enables protection of private and sensitive data such as bank account numbers.

 

Additionally, the system can block, quarantine for review, log, or encrypt a message based on content. Officials said that DISC serves a primary customer base of financial firms to assist them in meeting SEC (News - Alert) compliance using PolicyBridge.

 

PolicyBridge II meets industry regulatory requirements such as the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure (FRCP). Also, it meets the standards set by the SEC, FINRA and other national and international regulatory bodies.

 

In July, the company announced that it has executed an asset purchase agreement with BeCompliant Corporation (BCC (News - Alert)) to purchase its SecurScan email archiving and compliance business.
