MobileMax Launches GVdialer Application for Google Voice

By Calvin Azuri, TMCnet Contributor

MobileMax has launched GVdialer, a mobile application for Google Voice. This application will support iPhone (News - Alert), BlackBerry, Android, Windows Mobile and Nokia Symbian mobile phones.

The unified communication (UC) and fixed mobile convergence (FMC) technologies from MobileMax (News - Alert) enable service providers, corporations and end users to extend their office communication and VoIP services to mobile devices.

The GVdialer application will allow users to make calls using their Google (News - Alert) Voice account. Calls can be made directly from a user’s mobile phone's native contacts, call log and keypad. The GVdialer application will present the Google number as the Caller ID on outgoing mobile calls and keep the mobile number private. When a user dials directly from the phone's contacts, speed dial, call log or keypad, GVdialer will automatically connect the call using Google Voice.

The GVdialer application can be downloaded to mobile phones from the official website. The free trial version is available for a period of 30 days. It will contain all the features of the paid version. The full paid version includes all future versions and features and is priced at $9.99. The GVdialer paid version is available for iPhone users at $2.99 from Apple (News - Alert) App Store. The GVdialer application support for new phone models is being added on a weekly basis.

A major advantage of GVdialer is cost saving since by setting the Google Number as a favorite number on the mobile plan, users can stop paying for local and national long distance calls. Customers can also make use of Google’s low rates for international calls. One of the features of GVdialer is Google Voice access which enables instant access to Google Voice features such as Voice mail, Inbox, GOOG-411. It also allows users to configure when it will be used, for example, all calls, international calls or domestic calls. The application will also ask a user if he wants it be set on each and every call.

GVdialer runs in the background of a user’s phone and does not use data connection to make calls. When a user dials a number, GVdialer will route the call by dialing to the user’s Google number and connecting him to the destination number. At present, GVdialer is available in the U.S. and Canada.
