A provider of voice, video and mobile communications solutions for business and residential customers said its recent relocation to new corporate headquarters is complete.
Officials with 8x8 said the move to its expanded corporate headquarters in Sunnyvale, Calif. helps it better accommodate its workforce, which has increased steadily over the last year.
8x8 (News - Alert) entered into a three-year lease agreement for property at 810 W. Maude Avenue, in Sunnyvale, Calif. The 52,000-square-foot facility houses about 230 employees and includes executive and administrative offices, sales and customer support call centers, an around-the-clock network operations center, product warehousing and shipping facilities and a training center.
The company’s direct sales team consults with prospective small business customers about the advantages of its VoIP hosted PBX (News - Alert) phone service, which is currently used by more than over 17,000 companies. This segment of 8x8's workforce has grown more than 50 percent since June 2008. Company officials said they expect that sector will continue to expand in the coming months.
“In spite of this challenging economy, 8x8 is experiencing the most significant growth in its 22 year history, largely because of the money-saving IP communications services we are delivering to SMBs across the country," said 8x8 Chairman and CEO Bryan Martin (News - Alert) in a statement. "Our new Sunnyvale location gives us much needed space to support our current growth along with the expansion we anticipate over the next several years."
In addition to its corporate headquarters, 8x8 maintains sales and customer support call center operations in Santa Maria, Calif. and a research and development office in Sophia Antipolis, France.
In its most recent earnings report, 8x8 announced record sales to new business customers for the second consecutive quarter. In addition, company officials said they expect increased revenue and net income in the current quarter.
8x8, a platinum sponsor of Technology Marketing Corporation’s upcoming ITEXPO West 2009, is looking for the proliferation of broadband Internet – an effort now underway, with stimulus funds behind it to help boost the VoIP market. One company official, who will also be exhibiting at the show, said in a recent interview that as while the firm supports the movement of broadband Internet to more remote areas, it’s still important that the government teach people about applications they may want to use.
