With the health care sector becoming more technology oriented, the medical practitioners as well as care givers are becoming increasingly dependent on smart solutions for timely communication with their patients and everybody else who matters at the time of crisis. Ascom (News - Alert) Wireless Solutions' teleCARE IP system has been there for quite some time, making a prominent presence at hospitals and care homes across the world. Now the on-site communication provider is all set to make their product more valuable with the integration of VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) feature into the tool.
Basically developed as a communication platform for easy exchanges between health care professionals at different ends of the health care sector, Ascom teleCARE IP was created with sufficient room for future innovations. The tool was designed in a way that in future it would be able to accommodate new features. The architecture of the tool allowed the inclusion of more features combining the full suite of traditional nurse call functionality and the power of IP technology. The new VoIP feature will make the task of the care givers easier.
The integration of new VoIP feature is expected to make the teleCARE IP more efficient. The VoIP solution adds voice to this leading Ascom product and this in turn is expected to increase staff efficiency and standard of care delivered in the health care centers.
"The new VoIP solution delivers practical functions direct to those who need them most. For example, nurses can use Direct Call In, noise-triggered Acoustic Monitoring and a Listen-In function to discreetly monitor and talk to their patients. With the new voice functionality, communication can be maintained without the nurse having to physically visit a room or the patient to leave his or her bed. We are sure these new features will make a significant contribution to staff efficiency and standards of patient and resident care wherever they are applied," Jan Ringenier, Product Manager at Ascom explained.
The VoIP enabled Ascom solution makes communication between staff and from staff to patients or residents possible even when the concerned people are on the move. By using Ascom DECT (News - Alert) or VoWiFi handsets, the health care givers can stay connected with their colleagues as well as patients while away from the facility. All communication is done over the LAN using VoIP and SIP clients. Using the LAN makes it possible to connect multiple sites to one large united site.
"Creating a truly future proof environment with solid communication solutions for our customers is one of the most important tasks we face. With VoIP, the healthcare sector can benefit from reducing communication and infrastructure expenses by routing phone calls over existing data networks, thus avoiding duplicate network systems. And last but not least, the Ascom teleCARE IP system allows for the reuse of existing infrastructure, reducing the client's investment burden as well as contributing to the creation of a leaner, more cost effective working environment at their hospital, elderly care home or nursing home," Mr Ringenier said while further explaining the efficacy of VoIP enabled teleCARE IP Solution from Ascom.
