Avistar Communications Corporation, a major player in unified visual communications solutions, has launched its business pro edition, which is the company's first comprehensive "all-software" turnkey videoconferencing infrastructure. This software leapfrogs other hardware-based solutions on the market today with its easy-to-purchase, easy-to-deploy and easy-to-use approach.
Officials with Avistar (News - Alert) said that available together with the company's desktop visual communication endpoints, the business pro edition delivers fully scalable endpoint registration and H.323 interoperability via the Avistar C3 (News - Alert) Call Control, next-generation bandwidth management via the Avistar C3 Command, economical multiparty calling via the Avistar C3 Conference and ubiquitous communications via the Avistar C3 Tunnel firewall traversal solutions.
Company officials said that Avistar's business pro edition, which is delivered as an all-software and fully comprehensive videoconferencing infrastructure, is designed for corporate clients, distributors and OEM partners alike.
"Delivered as an all-software solution with a price point as much as 77 percent less expensive than most of our competitors, Avistar's business pro edition provides for substantially faster returns on investment and allows our clients to deploy an industry-leading videoconferencing infrastructure, using spare server capacity and easily fitting into their IT operational model," said Stephen Epstein (News - Alert), CMO, Avistar, in a statement.
Epstein said that it also provides administrators the control to manage bandwidth consumption, leverage current IT investments and deliver videoconferencing features that will help their business users be more productive.
He said that in all, Avistar's business pro edition delivers unparalleled price/performance, interoperability, ubiquity, resource management and scalability.
"This will help revolutionize the way videoconferencing infrastructures are deployed and managed, while leading to great operational savings," said Epstein.
Back in May Avistar had announced that it has signed a hosted service provider distribution agreement with SoTel Systems, a wholesale supplier of business communications products and Session Initiation Protocol (News - Alert) (SIP) services, that will provide the Avistar C3 Communicator solution to the small- and medium-sized business marketplace as a hosted business-class desktop videoconferencing service
