ANDTEK's 'AND Desktop AC' Allows Cisco Users to Manage Phone Calls on Their PC

ANDTEK GmbH announced that its “AND Desktop AC” will be highly beneficial for Cisco (News - Alert) users as they can manage their phone calls on their computers itself. ANDTEK specializes in providing unified communications or UC solutions.


The attendant console solution features voice recording, phone call statistics, attendant and user status, detailed information about the caller and integration of complete corporate databases. It offers all relevant functions that are available in modern attendant consoles.

The “AND Desktop AC” attendant Console software enables attendants to manage their communication directly on their computer. All phone services are available on the software client and the IP desk phone or softphone is controlled by the PC. It is also possible to handle attendant tasks directly on IP phones especially in environments where no computer is available.

The benefits of such a system are unlimited number of queues per attendant; flexible integration of multiple corporate directories; graphical display of attendant and user status; optimized handling of forwarding/redirecting/transferring calls; most important services available on desk phone; automatic fallback of transferred calls to busy destinations; fully integrated with AND Phone (News - Alert) application platform and attendant console for terminal server environments.

Using “AND Desktop AC” attendant console solution users can link directories having a different format like Active Directory and LDAP, SQL databases, MS Exchange Server or address directories and communications manager user databases.

The solution includes all corporate directories offering a complete overview about all phones within the company, added company sources.

Even in the case of incoming phone calls the attendant will be able to get a complete overview about the status of all phones within the company. Also the attendant will come to know immediately if there are active internal or external phone calls besides being able to see the phone number they are talking to at the moment.

The AND Desktop AC attendant can receive detailed information about a caller including details like customer numbers, order information or information about the last contact date.

The wallboard function benefits users of the attendant console solution as this function allows them to get an overview of the status of phones in an intuitive way. Banks, insurance companies and call centers require such information as it helps them enhance customer satisfaction. The wallboard function is expected to be generally available in the fourth quarter of 2010, according to company sources.

The attendant console software “AND Desktop AC” can run under all current Windows operating systems and is also highly scalable.
