Voicemail to email enhances Acredo's hosted VoIP service

Acredo (News - Alert) Technologies has enhanced its BASIX platform with a voicemail to e-mail notification and forwarding feature, the company said.

The latest feature notifies users by e-mail when they receive a voicemail message. The voicemail messages can be listened to as e-mail attachments. Activation of this feature is simplified using preference settings in the communication manager, accessed via a Web-based portal.

"Our suite of new features will continue to expand and increase the value proposition that BASIX offers," said Mike Ross (News - Alert), president and CEO of Acredo, in a statement. "Our focus is still to provide the fastest, easiest, most productive way for a business user to communicate and we won't stop until we accomplish this. Voicemail to email is another improvement that we believe helps the user to communicate faster, while staying connected, and keeping it simple."

Acredo Technologies provides hosted Internet phone services.

The company earlier this month had announced that they have enhanced their product BASIX, with a Click-to-Call feature that has been added to their web based portal, the Communication Manager.

Click-to-Call not only allows customers to dial any phone number listed in the address book of their Communication Manager in just one easy step, but also to easily dial logged, inbound, outbound, or missed calls with one click from the call history that is displayed. The Click-to-call feature turns any number listed in the Communication Manager into an active link, allowing BASIX users to simply place their cursor over the desired phone number, and with one click, instantly initiate a telephone call. The Click-to-Call application dials the number selected immediately, saving time and improving productivity for business users.

Acredo recently had announced its entrance into Motorola’s (News - Alert) Enterprise Mobility Business PartnerSelect Program.

This enables Acredo to integrate its hosted Internet phone service for business, BASIX, with mobility technology from Nokia.

The company has also inked a distribution agreement with Ingram Micro (News - Alert), one of the world's largest wholesale providers of technology products and services.

The agreement is expected to allow the company to offer the customers a wide variety of innovative and market-leading technology products such as the Nokia (News - Alert) dual mode mobile phones and wireless routers that work seamlessly with its product BASIX Mobile.
