APCON, a globally recognized provider of matrix switches and software, announced on Thursday the latest contract from its customer, Terremark Worldwide (News - Alert). As a global provider of managed IT infrastructure services, Terremark has purchased a 20-switch license of TITAN, software for managing APCON's INTELLAPATCH switches.

 

APCON's (News - Alert) TITAN software will enable Terremark to remotely manage customer networks and equipment at its worldwide IT services facilities.

Among the leaders in physical layer technology, APCON is the only company producing both hardware and software solutions to manage physical layer connections. Currently, organizations in over 30 countries depend on APCON solutions in their network infrastructures.

 

APCON ustomers include Fortune 500 companies, government and military organizations, networking and computer OEMs, telecommunication and service providers, financial services firms, and medical companies.

 

Terremark operates facilities worldwide housing the equipment and networks of telecommunications and internet service providers, as well as hundreds of enterprise customers and various government entities. It has been using APCON's INTELLAPATCH Physical Layer Switches to remotely monitor and troubleshoot the networks of these service providers.

 

Based on the success of the INTELLAPATCH switches, Terremark chose to order TITAN, a software package that offers a single point of control for interconnected APCON switches. When TITAN is fully installed, Terremark will be able to move and share analysis tools electronically through the networks of its service provider customers, all from its central monitoring center in Miami.
