To help businesses automatically track Voice over Internet Protocol phones on their network, eTelemetry (News - Alert) today announced that its “Locate911-A” is compliant with key IP
solutions from Avaya (News - Alert).
The application is compliance-tested by Avaya for compatibility with Avaya Communication Manager release 5.0 and Avaya Application Enablement Services v4.1. eTelemetry is a member of the Avaya DevConnect (News - Alert) program.
With Locate911-A, companies can track VoIP
phone assets in real time, which helps them reduce losses considerably, according to Avaya. Other advantages include improvements in data accuracy and saving staff time by automating VoIP assignment are also available to the users of Locate911 (News - Alert)-A, company officials say.
eTelemetry officials say Avaya compliance reflects eTelemetry’s commitment to providing standards-based technology to its customers. The certification also enables the company to become a preferred e911
solution for Avaya partners and customers, they say. eTelemetry can submit products for compatibility testing by the Avaya Solution Interoperability and Test Lab in Lincroft, N.J, as a Gold member of the program. To check whether an application is Avaya compliant, a team of Avaya engineers develops a comprehensive test plan for each application. The Avaya certification is designed to help companies confidently add best-in-class capabilities to their network without having to replace their existing infrastructure.
According to Avaya, that reduces both network complexity and implementation costs and quickens deployment of new applications.
“By offering compliance testing to the many innovative companies like eTelemetry who are members of our DevConnect program, Avaya promotes fully interoperable solutions that help businesses unleash powerful new possibilities,” said Eric Rossman, vice president, developer relations and technical alliances at Avaya. “They are able to use Intelligent Communications to connect employees and customers to information from wherever they are, over whatever device they have available – getting more out of their multivendor network and delivering new value to their bottom line.”
The Avaya DevConnect program develops, markets and sells innovative third-party products that interoperate with Avaya technology and extend the value of a company’s investment in its network.
