Cox (News - Alert) Business Services has reportedly selected BroadSoft's BroadWorks VoIP platform as the foundation for its next generation IP
telephony service.
Service providers use BroadSoft's (News - Alert) BroadWorks platform to deliver advanced hosted PBX
services. These services provide enhanced PBX (News - Alert) functionality over any IP connection and eliminate premise-based solutions that require highly trained technicians.
According to Kristine Faulkner, vice president of product development and management for Cox Business Services, BroadSoft's experience and additional know-how of the VoIP
world provides a great foundation for them to leverage as they expand their IP strategy and enable customers with advanced communication features to increase productivity and ensure business continuity.
The BroadWorks VoIP platform enables self-provisioning and tie communications into one unifying service. These capabilities allow multi-location businesses to function more effectively as an integrated enterprise and keep all sites securely connected.
"BroadSoft's VoIP platform and networking expertise provides user-friendly, feature-rich offerings at an affordable price for the fast-growing small and medium business market," said Michael Tessler, CEO and president of BroadSoft in a statement to the press.
"As a communications leader, Cox has a deep understanding of the voice and broadband needs of its customers and we are pleased to work together," he added.
