Splinternet Holdings Inc. has begun offering a competitive lower cost international calling service for mobile virtual network operators (MVNOs).
The MVNOs have reportedly integrated the Splinternet system into the core wireless network and billing systems. The integration enables their customers to make lower cost international calls than is available through traditional cellular network services.
In addition to create new revenue opportunities for these MVNOs, Splinternet's services provide higher margins on international calling than traditional services offered. Thanks to Splinternet, international calling has become convenient and inexpensive for all subscribers of the MVNO
, especially for prepaid subscribers and expatriates.
James Ackerly, Splinternet president expects the positive initial response to their international service for MVNOs will continue as Splinternet grows into a full-service internet-driven telecommunications company.
“We are excited to be working closely with these wireless providers to expand our target market for Splinternet wholesale services,” said Ackerly in a statement to the press.
“With more than 50 operational MVNOs in the US alone, and more than 360 planned or operational MVNOs worldwide, we believe this is a growing market that Splinternet is well-positioned to serve,” he added.
