T4G Implements Taridium's ipbx Enterprise VoIP Platform

Taridium (News - Alert) LLC, a next-generation VoIP solutions provider for both enterprises and service providers, has announced that T4G Limited has implemented Taridium’s ipbx enterprise VoIP platform. As a result, this project-based provider of information technology (IT) services will have access to an open-standards solution with the reliability of non-stop hardware, 24x7 monitoring and software support.

T4G was experiencing significant growth and called on Taridium’ ipbx solution, added offices and increased telecommunication expenses as it had essentially outgrown its Windows PBX. The company’s existing system served them well in its Toronto headquarters, but the system’s proprietary nature, lack of expansion and interconnection meant it was no longer an appropriate solution for the growing IT provider.

"It was imperative to find a new standards-based PBX (News - Alert) solution that managed all of our locations while supporting our remote and expanding employee base," stated Geoff Flood, president and co-founder of T4G, in a Tuesday statement.

T4G realized that the success of its business was highly reliant on a new communications infrastructure that used VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) and supported SIP (Session Initiation Protocol (News - Alert)).

"In my research I came across several SIP-based solutions from the major telecommunications vendors," stated Michael Cottenden, CTO and co-founder of T4G, in Tuesday’s statement. "The cost for those solutions was around $200,000. T4G is a value-conscious organization and these solutions were definitely not in line with our corporate values."

T4G’s next logical step was to consider an open-source solution. The IT company spent a great deal of time researching vendors. In the end, T4G found that an open source and standards SIP/IAX-based solution would allow the company to grow effectively without the risks normally associated with a proprietary solution.

Taridium’s ipbx enterprise VoIP platform was ultimately the solution that T4G needed as it offered the IT company the open-standards solution it was seeking and the reliability of non-stop hardware, 24x7 monitoring and software support.

Cottenden went on to explain that T4G wanted a solution that "could still offer us the flexibility of full access to the dialplan and, most importantly, a Web interface for the employee. Most of our employees are in the office one day and at a client site the next.
That means employees require the ability to modify their own call routing on a daily basis. The features of the Taridium ipbx product are exactly what we were looking for. The Taridium team provided us with a clean remote installation of the ipbx software, and we were up and running in a very short time. Their built-in phone provisioning makes deploying SIP phones a breeze."
Anytime a business is experiencing expansion, changes have to be made to accommodate the growth in order to maintain business processes. These growing pains can put a strain on the communications structure and often leave companies rushing to implement solutions that may work, but cost more than they should.

T4G found that through due diligence, it could locate a solution that would fulfill its needs while also observing its budget. The Taridium solution offered the flexibility and cost benefits of the VoIP and SIP technologies in addition to the monitoring and security features that T4G desired. In the end, the selection was a win/win for both companies.
