Telefonica Implements Smartcool's Energy Savings Module

Smartcool Systems, an advanced energy conservations solutions company, announced its Spanish sales channel Enertek has signed a contract with the largest Spanish telecoms service provider Telefónica Espana to implement Smartcool’s Energy Savings Module or “ESM” technology to over 40 site locations within the Spanish regions of Madrid, Catalunya, Pais Vasco and Valencia.

 

Under the terms of the contract signed in early December, Enertek will install the ESM units by the end of February.

 

Smartcool Systems (News - Alert) manufactures and distributes the Smartcool Energy Saving Module and the ECO3 solutions. The company reportedly launched the ECO3 solutions earlier last year. The solution makes refrigeration and air conditioning systems more efficient, resulting in proven cost savings, reduced energy consumption, and a smaller carbon footprint.

 

The Smartcool ESM can be retrofitted to existing refrigeration and air conditioning systems and is compatible with all known control systems, company officials added. These solutions find applications in supermarkets, food distributors, telecommunications companies, hospitals, and hotels. They also serve residential customers.

Telefónica is one of the world’s largest telecommunications companies, with the fixed and mobile telecommunications as the core focus areas, while its broadband business is the key growth driver underpinning both.

In Spain, the Group has over 85 years experience with more than 15 million fixed lines, more than 5 million data and Internet access and more than 23.4 million mobile customers.

 

The ESM rollout, according to Burnes, further underlines the capabilities of Smartcool’s energy efficiency technologies within the market, as well as the company’s effectiveness in providing a significant and economical energy cost saving solution.
