Personalization Mall Selects Extreme Networks' Solutions

By Anil Sharma, TMCnet Contributor

Personalization Mall, a major player in the online retail market, has selected Extreme Networks’ high performance Ethernet network solutions to power its online store and corporate headquarters.

Founded 1998, Personalization Mall serves consumers globally by offering personalized, unique gift ideas via a shopping experience that is both quick and easy.

'Our network is critical to the customer experience as well as revenue and we were not willing to take chances with marginal performance or inconsistent features,' said Steven Diggory, IT Manager for Personalization Mall, in a statement.

Diggory said that Extreme Networks (News - Alert) high performance solutions and innovative approach met each of the goals, letting the company stay at the bleeding edge of performance while getting the best value.

Officials with Extreme Networks said that the new network supports Personalization Mall's entire business infrastructure and highly automated workflow, from its 24x7 Web-based retail operation and 100,000 sq ft production facility, to the diverse needs of its office employees, ranging from Marketing and Administration to Customer Support.

'Extreme Networks offers retailers and online businesses a clear and immediate return on their network investment, giving them the infrastructure that is required to keep transactions moving around the clock,' said Harpreet Chadha, senior director of product management for Extreme Networks.

“Personalization Mall is another great example of how our value is extended for both higher performance and flexibility,' said Chadha.

Extreme Networks provides converged Ethernet network infrastructure that support data, voice and video for enterprises and service providers.

In February Extreme Networks announced that its scalable data center network solutions are powering CityNAP's data center and colocation facilities, a Tier 1 Network Access Point (News - Alert) (NAP) in Texas. CityNAP provides Internet peering and a host of data and communication services to better connect businesses and ISPs in the southwestern U.S.

As a Tier 1 Internet hub and data center facility in San Antonio, CityNAP serves as a point of convergence for multiple fiber-optic networks of carriers, providing affordable access to surrounding businesses that require reliable access for converged video, storage, and Software as a Service (SaaS (News - Alert)).

To support its services with a reliable and power efficient data center network, CityNAP selected Extreme Networks Ethernet infrastructure solutions featuring its BlackDiamond 20808, BlackDiamond 8800 and Summit X350 aggregation switches to implement a fully PCI (News - Alert) compliant environment for managed services and other client requirements.

The infrastructure also supports CityNAP's efforts to assist companies to consolidate systems through the use of internal processes and products such as VMware. The resulting network is highly scalable, resilient, and virtualized.
