ePlus, a technology solutions provider, today announced its success in helping organizations "go green" by reducing power consumption within their data centers. By working with its strategic partners, including HP, Cisco (News - Alert), and VMware, ePlus has helped customers approach their IT infrastructure as a way to boost productivity and improve cost savings, as well as to benefit the environment by reducing power usage through more effective computing and data storage practices.

ePlus allows organizations to optimize their IT infrastructure and supply chain processes by delivering IT products from top manufacturers, professional services, flexible lease financing, proprietary software, and patented business methods. Founded in 1990, ePlus has more than 650 associates in more than 30 locations and serves more than 2,500 customers.

"We're proud of our accomplishment and leadership in the movement to promote the adoption of 'green' technology, especially as it relates to the data center," said Mark Marron, senior vice president of sales of ePlus Technology.

Recent research has revealed that data centers can eat up to 100 times the energy per square foot of typical office space, according to Marron.

With technologies like the HP BladeSystem c-Class, Cisco Energy Efficient Data Center solutions, and server and storage consolidation and virtualization, ePlus sees their customers becoming aware of the significant reductions in power and cooling, as well as data center floor space while achieving a more flexible, adaptable, and manageable IT architecture.

"Helping customers move toward green data centers is part of HP's commitment to environmental responsibility," said Frank Rauch, vice president of sales, Technology Systems Group, Solution Partners Organization - Americas, HP. "Our new and enhanced disk storage systems and tape drives, as well as the HP Data Center Thermal Assessment Service and HP Dynamic Smart Cooling, allow organizations to boost power efficiency and reduce power and cooling costs by as much as 50 percent."

Andrew Sage, vice president of worldwide channels marketing at Cisco, said the company is moving toward technologies and solutions that help customers meet both their economic and business goals.

“By working with partners like ePlus to bring our Cisco Energy Efficient Data Center solutions to market, we are able to put best practices in the hands of our customers - and slow the growth of power consumption by data centers in a financially and environmentally responsible manner," Sage rationalized.

ePlus is an HP Platinum Business Partner, Cisco Gold Certified Partner, and VMware Premier Partner. It has put to action cost-saving, energy-friendly data center solutions for a broad range of customers, including many in the Fortune 1000. The company’s solutions have allowed businesses to consolidate, virtualize, automate, and manage their IT infrastructures.
