A lot has happened since our last update, and the Summit is developing nicely on several fronts.

 

Everyone we’re speaking with is interested in supporting the event, and our speaking roster confirmations are steadily expanding. The Summit Web site is posting the first iteration of our agenda and roster this week, and a press release will be distributed by TMC (News - Alert) to get the word out.

In terms of the content, the Summit is a one-day event, and we have settled on five topics:

 

 

Many utilities are in the process of preparing their stimulus funding proposals right now, but over the next week, we expect to firm up a number of these for our utility-focused panel. At this point, we have active dialog going with many potential speakers, and our roster will be much more extensive by next week. The Smart Grid portal also continues to evolve. Shidan Gouran and I have several interviews planned with leading Smart Grid companies, and as we count down to the conference, we plan to feature profiles, interviews and guest posts from as many participating companies as possible. I should add that this will not only continue, but expand after the Summit.

 

This portal has been launched in tandem with the Summit, but will follow its own path as an ongoing focal point for the Smart Grid community. We are pleased with the portal’s progress to date, and based on the very high placement rankings it has received on major Internet search engines, it’s clear to us that we’re addressing an important need, and the industry is taking notice.
