Watches of Switzerland Welcome Baume & Mercier and Junghans to their Online Store

(PR Web Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) London, UK (PRWEB) December 14, 2012 Watches of Switzerland are proud to announce that Baume & Mercier and Junghans are the latest prestigious watch brands to be sold directly through their online store. While Baume & Mercier have been a staple Watches of Switzerland brand for some time, this is the first opportunity customers have to purchase directly online. Junghans are one of the newest brands to be featured in the expanding Watches of Switzerland online showroom.

One of the great names within Swiss watchmaking, Baume & Mercier was founded in 1830 in the Jura region of the country and grew quickly, soon launching branches in Geneva, Philadelphia, and later, London. The brand supplied time pieces all over the British Empire, and reflected the durability of its own watches by surviving both the Great Depression of the Thirties and the Quartz Crisis of the Seventies and Eighties. The strong qualities of style and accuracy are expressed through their four main watch lines: Capeland, Classima, Hampton and Linea.

The Linea line in particular is offering something new to its female customers; the latest collection consists of smaller timepieces intended to transition perfectly from work to eveningwear, with an accompanying collection of coloured straps that emphasises the collection’s focus on trends. In 2013 Baume & Mercier will produce Linea watches with automatic movement in place of quartz movement to reflect a shift in customer preference.

For their male customers, Baume & Mercier are launching an entirely new line influenced by 1950s timepieces: the Clifton Collection. Clifton series watches will be 41mm in diameter and produced in silver and blue steel, and the line will be headed by the Clifton 1830, cast in red gold and featuring a manual winding movement displayed through transparent sapphire crystal on the back of the watch.

Also available through Watches of Switzerland for the first time, Junghans - a quintessentially German watch brand, founded in 1861 in the town of Schramberg. Their motto is ‘tradition and modernity go hand-in-hand’, a philosophy preserved through new and on-going developments within their collections.

The Junghans 2012 range features the handsome Max Bill range of hand-wound, automatic and chronoscope watches in a selection of styles and finishes. Also available is the Creator series of beautiful and commanding timepieces, designed to be worn comfortably for both everyday business and for smarter evening occasions.

Customers can order Baume & Mercier and Junghans timepieces today from the Watches of Switzerland website, alongside a host of other quality luxury watches. Watches of Switzerland has showrooms in London, Brighton, Cardiff, Manchester, Birmingham, as well as Edinburgh and Glasgow. Visit the website at http://www.watches-of-switzerland.co.uk.
