Bryan Medical Center Purchases 15 CARESTREAM DRX Systems For Its Hospital, Outpatient Imaging Centers

Bryan Medical Center (Lincoln, Neb.) purchased 13 CARESTREAM DRX-1 Systems and two CARESTREAM DRX-Mobile Retrofit Kits to streamline workflow and enhance patient care at the East and West campuses of the system's hospital and its two outpatient imaging centers. These healthcare facilities conduct more than 155,000 medical imaging exams a year.

"Our evaluation of three vendors' wireless detectors involved our staff working with the equipment and completing detailed evaluation forms. Carestream's DRX detector and software was the clear favorite because of its ease of use, image quality and advanced features like enhanced visualization of tubs and lines," said Sharon Harms, Bryan Medical Center's Director of Radiology. "It also offers remote reporting, which is an important capability for our managers."

When installation is complete, 90 percent of these facilities' X-ray exams will be captured on Carestream's digital radiography systems. The healthcare system plans to install several additional DR systems in 2013 to complete its conversion.
