Consumer Cellular Sponsors Grandparent of the Year Contest

Consumer Cellular, a wireless provider for AARP members, wants to know and is asking people from across the country to submit their nominations so they can award travel prizes to three contestants for its first annual Grandparent of the Year contest.
According to a release, the contest runs trough Sept. 3. The grand prize winner will receive a six night Caribbean cruise for four on a Royal Caribbean International cruise ship. Second and third place travel prizes will also be awarded.
"Our first annual Grandparent of the Year contest is designed to raise awareness of Grandparents Day, an annual holiday that falls on the first Sunday after Labor Day, and celebrate the people who make it possible," said John Marick, CEO of Consumer Cellular. "Through this contest we're inviting the public to use their creativity to share what makes their grandparent or grandparenting extraordinary."
To enter the contest:
1. Visit consumercellular.com/grandparents for a complete list of contest guidelines and the official entry form.
2. Create a 3-minute (or less) video OR a 500 word (or less) essay answering one of the following questions:
-What makes my grandparent extraordinary?
-What makes my parent an extraordinary grandparent?
-What makes grandparenting extraordinary?
3. Upload submissions online.
Entries will be accepted now through Friday, Sept. 3. All entries will be posted online and the general public is invited to vote for their favorite submission until 11:59 p.m. EDT on Tuesday, Sept. 7. The top five finalists, as voted on by the public, will be announced on Friday, Sept. 10, right before the Grandparents Day weekend. Grand, second and third prize winners will be announced by Consumer Cellular during the annual AARP Orlando@50+ convention in Orlando, Sept. 30 - Oct. 2. Winners will also be posted online.
