Urgent: UN Security Council renews mandate of UN Interim Security Force for Abyei

UNITED NATIONS, Nov 16, 2012 (Xinhua via COMTEX) -- The UN Security Council on Friday voted unanimously to extend the mandate of the United Nations Interim Security Force for Abyei (UNISFA) until May 31, 2013, and urge Sudan and South Sudan to make efforts to ensure " steady progress" on the implementation of the June 2011 agreement.
