Comstor, a global distributor of Cisco (News
- Alert) products and a part of Westcon Group, announced its new offerings including Cisco's full TelePresence portfolio.
With Cisco TelePresence organizations can benefit from a live and face-to-face experience. The participants can share content, create video recordings, consult with experts and deliver personalized services. The solutions allow organizations to increase their global impact without increasing carbon footprints.
“Our TelePresence portfolio is specifically designed to put people at the center of collaboration, changing the very nature of how they work,” said Scott Brown, vice president of worldwide distribution at Cisco. “Cisco is at the core of this change, as our rich collaboration suite empowers workers like never before – allowing them to become more productive by using video and face-to-face collaboration.”
In October 2010, Comstor (News - Alert) started global LEAP (Learn, Experience, Architect and Plan) Centers of Excellence to offer foundation for partners to test, train, experiment, simulate and collaborate on the Cisco Unified Computing System.
The new TelePresence offerings provide a platform for partners to integrate into Cisco channel ecosystem. The alliance is also expected to power Cisco partners to extend their solutions into TelePresence market segment.
“In this challenging global economy, companies are taking a closer look at executive and employee travel. But the need for collaborative work among customers, partners and other employees is only growing in importance,” said Jon Pritchard, president, Comstor Worldwide.
According to analysts, the videoconferencing market will reach $8 to $10 billion within the next four years. Comstor is looking at leveraging this opportunity. The company will distribute the entire portfolio of Cisco TelePresence and videoconferencing products.
Recently, Comstor released the new eighth edition of their Solutions Handbook – the authoritative desk reference for Cisco-oriented resellers. It is available in multiple formats including iPhone (News - Alert)/iPod applications, a standalone printed version, an online eBook and also as a USB-stick.
