Intelsat (News - Alert) S.A., the global leader in fixed satellite services, has entered into contracts with media customers for the usage of its leading video neighborhoods. Under the contract, each programmer will provide media content to regional, national and transcontinental audiences via Intelsat’s premium video neighborhoods.

Our established neighborhoods demonstrate our commitment to creating value for media customers seeking long-term service continuity. Fully integrated with our IntelsatONESM MPLS-based terrestrial network, including MCPC platforms, our neighborhoods are efficient distribution platforms with maximum cable and direct to home (DTH) system penetration.”

Intelsat’s exclusive video neighborhoods, which consist of 26 media satellites, will distribute around 300 global High Definition (HD) channels as well as hosts over 30 Direct To Home (DTH) platforms in nearly 200 countries. With advantages like high network availability, unmatched technical expertise, and fully integrated IntelsatONESM services, the company’s video neighborhoods are attracting new media customers from across the world.

Intelsat has signed new contracts in Europe with prominent companies like Viacom’s MTV Networks (News - Alert), Eastern Space Systems Romania, Telefónica Servicios Audiovisuales, Chello Multicanal, and GlobeCast. The company also signed a multi-year, multi-transponder agreement with MultiChoice, the leading DTH provider in Africa. Intelsat also offers its services to Viewsat in Africa. In the Americas, Intelsat also has business contracts with Global Village Telecom Ltda., Brazil’s PBI S.A., Pittsburgh International Telecommunications and GlobeCast WorldTV. In Asia, the company has a 10-year contract with GlobeCast, a multi-year with Sun TV Network Ltd. of India, and has contracts with China Radio International and also Essel Shyam (News - Alert) Communications.
