SecureLogix Delivers Integrated Voice and Unified Communications Security on Cisco Voice Gateways to Enterprise Market
SAN ANTONIO --(Business Wire)--
SecureLogix
Corporation, leaders in unified communications (UC) security and
intelligence, announced the availability of version 7.0 of its
award-winning ETM® System today. ETM System v7.0 integrates
the company's voice/UC network security, fraud prevention, policy
enforcement, and intelligence solutions with Cisco Integrated Services
Routers (ISRs) and voice gateways for enterprise customers world-wide. A
similar announcement from Cisco can be found at http://newsroom.cisco.com/press-release-content?type=webcontent&articleId=838176.
SecureLogix used the Cisco Unified Communications (UC) Gateway (News - Alert) Services
API to integrate its applications with Cisco's enterprise-focused
session border controller (SBC), Cisco Unified Border Element (CUBE),
and Cisco TDM Gateways. SecureLogix® voice-policy
applications can be run on Cisco UCS™ Express allowing SecureLogix
solutions to sit directly on the Cisco ISR alongside the Cisco TDM
gateway and/or Cisco CUBE, providing a single, multiservice SIP/VoIP/TDM
trunking enablement solution. SecureLogix running on Cisco
infrastructure eliminates the need for external voice security
appliances. The integrated solution also helps customers lower their
capital and operating expenses and offers environmental benefits by
avoiding the need for overlay networks when deploying dedicated
appliance-based SBCs, TDM gateways and related voice security platforms.
SecureLogix solutions outpace competitive offerings by providing
application level voice policy management and ROI intelligence
capabilities integrated at the network edge, such as:
-
Voice policy-driven, real-time service use enforcement and call
control to protect against voice fraud, toll theft, phone-based social
engineering schemes/ID theft/account takeover fraud, TDoS (telephony
denial of service) attacks, harassing/threatening calls, unauthorized
voice line access into data network resources, voice service misuse
and abuse, data leakage, voice protocol intrusion into data resources,
and other voice network threats and restricted traffic, thus enhancing
regulatory compliance and reducing financial losses and business
disruption.
-
Enterprise-wide voice/UC monitoring, reporting and analytics for
improved utilization of voice/UC network resources, greater service
uptime and performance, more intelligent network planning, reduced
corporate expenses, and increased business productivity.
Several customers have already deployed the integrated solution,
including a leading Health Care Provider in Indiana. "The policy-enabled
SBC from SecureLogix and Csco is proving invaluable to us in support of
our SIP trunking deployment in our enterprise," said Kevin Hartzburg,
telecommunications manager for Community Health Network in Indianapolis.
"The combination of CUBE with the SecureLogix voice policy applications,
all hosted on the ISR platform, is a real home run. This policy-based
SBC has helped enable our transition to SIP Trunking, while also
providing a low-cost, elegant path to protect us from application-level
voice threats and lower our expenses through rich voice ROI
intelligence."
Redefining the Enterprise SBC and TDM Gateway
The integration of SecureLogix expands the capabilities and deepens the
business value provided by a typical enterprise SBC or gateway.
Increasing numbers of businesses today are exploring transitions from
TDM to SIP trunking in order to reduce expenses and enhance their voice
and UC services. Adoption of SIP trunking is enabled by SBC technologies
that provide essential capabilities required by today's IP networks,
including session management, security, interworking, and demarcation.
SecureLogix voice policy enforcement applications integrate with
existing Cisco voice infrastructure without the need for another piece
of dedicated external hardware, helping customers achieve
application-level voice policy management and control capabilities with
full SIP trunking enablement across the enterprise. With SecureLogix
running on the Cisco ISR alongside Cisco CUBE or Cisco TDM gateway,
customers can enjoy a unified policy enforcement capability across their
entire TDM and SIP voice/UC environment from a single management
interface. Further, the rich ROI intelligence provided through
policy-based voice monitoring, reporting, and analytics typically
provides a less than 12 month payback on the SecureLogix solution.
"No other SBC solution offers this full range of platform, network, and
application level functionality to enable, manage, and secure SIP
trunking deployments across the enterprise," said Joe O'Donnell, vice
president of business development for SecureLogix.
