Agilent Technologies Announces Voice-over-LTE Test System Developed with Bruel & Kjaer

(NYSE: A) today announced that the Agilent PXT wireless communications test set is now available for testing voice quality on Voice-over-LTE (VoLTE) 4G phones with the Bruel & Kjaer PULSE Audio Analyzer and Head and Torso Simulator (HATS).

Transporting voice over a packet-based LTE cellular infrastructure poses challenges that make voice-quality testing essential. The Agilent and Bruel & Kjaer solution combines standards-based test methods with real-world base station emulation, RF test and functional test to ensure that VoLTE phones will meet user's expectations.

It incorporates flexible base station/network emulation, RF parametric and functional tests into one integrated unit and extends Agilent's unmatched portfolio of LTE test solutions for development and verification. Used with Agilent's E6966A IMS-SIP Network Emulator Software, the Agilent PXT enables VoLTE phones to make end-to-end voice and video calls using a wide range of industry standard codecs.
