iBasis (News - Alert) recently introduced its LTE Signaling Exchange (LSX) to let MNOs easily connect a large number of operators over a single interconnect. The service will also facilitate LTE (News - Alert) Roaming interoperability for multiple vendors.

iBasis' LSX is based on the company's IPX network, designed as a multiservice, global IP network providing mobile operators with high-quality voice and data services.
"We are committed to delivering the highest quality and performance to our customers," said Juan Ignacio Palacio, Vice President of International Markets at UNE. "LTE enables us to provide a significant improvement in customer experience, and with iBasis' LSX, we'll be able to keep that promise as our customers roam, domestically or internationally."
UNE, Colombia-based telco, and Dutch operator KPN (News - Alert) - as well as a number of other mobile network operators - will connect with iBasis' LSX Sandbox, which has been designed to support testing of technical operations such as basic roaming, policy control and charging.
"Roaming is very important to our subscribers and to our business," said Eric Kuisch, Senior EVP, NetCo at KPN. "As we roll out LTE in The Netherlands, we must provide our customers a consistently high quality experience, whether they are around the block or half-way around the world. The iBasis LSX and the Sandbox give us the opportunity to ensure that we're able to meet that standard."
LTE Roaming has been identified by operators as a challenge that must be addressed before enormous investments in the technology can deliver the expected profits. The iBasis LSX addresses the complexities and costs associated with LTE roaming while providing a high quality of service for roaming customers.
The LSX allows MNOs to connect to hundreds of downstream operators over a single interconnect, while facilitating the normalization of messages to support interoperability for each roaming partner. The solution can inter-work with existing SS7 networks.
The LSX leverages the iBasis IPX network, which currently spans more than 240 countries and territories across the globe. Operators using the iBasis LSX can capitalize on the growing demand for global multimedia services as the solution offers a converged interconnect.
