BETHPAGE, NY and IRVINE, CA, Jun 19, 2012 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) --
Cablevision Systems Corp. (NYSE: CVC), www.cablevision.com, and
Toshiba America Information Systems Inc., Telecommunication Systems
Division (Toshiba), www.telecom.toshiba.com, today announced
interoperability certification between Optimum Voice(R) SIP Trunking
from Optimum Business and Toshiba's IPedge(R) IP and Strata(R)
CIX(TM) IP business telephone systems. The certified solutions
deliver high-quality, reliable voice service for small and medium
businesses that want to take full advantage of an IP PBX system while
avoiding the cost of an analog gateway and/or traditional T1
solution.
Optimum Voice SIP Trunking supplies VoIP access and key network-based
telephony features to pre-certified IP-PBXs, simplifying the
configuration, reducing equipment costs, and improving the quality of
voice service by providing an IP interface directly to the customer's
LAN. It is delivered through a converged voice and data network that
is supported 24/7 by dedicated customer support and field service
professionals. Toshiba joins a growing list of technology partners
working with Optimum Business to provide an affordable,
easy-to-manage communications system for small businesses.
"With Optimum Voice SIP Trunking, small business customers can now
take advantage of advanced voice and data services without capacity
constraints of T1-based services," said Joseph Varello, Cablevision's
vice president of business and voice product management. "Combining
our SIP Trunking service with Toshiba's IP business telephone systems
gives customers access to sophisticated voice features, simplified
configuration, reduced equipment costs and significant room to scale
versus traditional business trunking solutions offered by the
telephone company. Optimum Voice SIP Trunking is now pre-certified
with an extensive group of technology partners and can assure
interoperability with all their customer devices."
The interoperability certification for Optimum Voice SIP Trunking
spans Toshiba's full family of telephone systems, which includes
IPedge EM, EP and EC models as well as Strata CIX40, CIX100, CIX200,
CIX670 and CIX1200 models. Optimum Voice SIP Trunking is available
through Optimum Business as well as third-party resellers, including
Authorized Toshiba Dealers, in the New York Metropolitan Area.
"Toshiba and Optimum Business are working together to meet the voice
needs of a broad range of small businesses," said Mark Carpenter,
vice president of technology and product management for Toshiba
America Information Systems Inc., Telecommunication Systems Division.
"Our IPedge systems are software-centric unified communications
platforms designed for organizations that want to deploy on an all-IP
network infrastructure to realize the savings of managing a single
network. Our Strata CIX systems provide excellent converged solutions
for small- to medium-sized businesses that want a mix of IP, digital
and analog endpoint devices connected to their systems, combined with
IP telephony and unified communications applications. This
integration with IPedge and Strata CIX systems with Optimum Voice SIP
Trunking ensures businesses get unprecedented freedom, control and
value from their business telephone systems."
"We provide our customers with the best solutions for their business
needs," said Bill Gollub, president of American Business
Communications Services, one of Toshiba's largest national account
dealers and an agent for Optimum Business based in Hackensack, N.J.
"Optimum Business and Toshiba have great combined products and
services at an affordable price, delivering enterprise-grade
communications solutions on a cutting-edge platform with Toshiba's
